OUR STORY
the making
In 1961 Ramankant V Doshi embarked on a journey with a dream to create an entity that would leave a mark in the diamond jewellery industry. He started small in Chennai and got help from his brother Devendra Doshi, who set up Kamlesh Diamonds in Bangalore only 10 years later. Another 4 years later, they were joined by Vinod Doshi who started Veekay Diamants in Mumbai, the hub of the country’s diamond market at Prasad Chambers (now BKC).
The business grew, new offices were opened, as Harendra Doshi also joined his elder brother in Chennai. Up to now, all the business the brothers were involved in only covered loose gemstones, diamonds and pearls. Soon they realised the jewellery industry would be a logical next step. The right time had come and Diamond Jewellery export was born.
The brothers had turned themselves to manufacturing jewellery with skilled artisans in the domestic regions. It’s also around this time that Kamlesh Doshi moves to Belgium to set up an office in Antwerp, diamond capital of the world. He calls it Varundiam and it’s from there that he started sourcing the finest quality of diamonds for the group.
The base for VEEKAY was now established and to give it further strength, a modern factory was acquired in SEEPZ (Special Economic Zone) under the name United Jewellery Manufacturing PVT LTD, which started primarily solely for the Spanish market.
This allowed them to use the latest technological advancements for manufacturing jewellery for the international market. Building further on the benefits of using machinery in the process, another factory was soon erected to serve purely for the domestic market under the label of VEEKAY DIAMANTS PVT LTD. Catering to more than 350 showrooms in India domestically and growing.
Then came along VEEKAY JEWELS BV, under Varun Doshi, who has made it his goal to make VEEKAY a global player and to make sure in this way the presence is felt everywhere.
Employing around 300 people and catering in 17 countries, with retail chains/brands worldwide, the group aims to expand into further sections of the world and continues to grow.

Suryakant Doshi

Harendra Doshi
In 1976, Shri HARENDRA DOSHI also joined his elder brother to support him at Chennai.
Devendra Doshi
In 1971, Devendra Doshi establishes KAMLESH DIAMONDS & CO in Bangalore, named after his youngest brother Kamlesh.
Vinod Doshi
In 1976, Vinod Doshi establishes the Mumbai office, and soon after the factory to become the diamond buying hub and jewellery manufacturing base for the entire group (domestically and internationally).
Kamlesh Doshi
In 1980, Kamlesh Doshi establishes the office in Antwerp (Belgium) and named the company Varundiam Bvba after the birth of his son. He eventually went on to work closely with Vinod and establishes the International Factory, to become the base for which VEEKAY goes global.

After 4 decades, the group goes under the name VEEKAY GROUP. With this, Veekay Jewels Bvba in Antwerp (Belgium) is born.
Engineered by Varun Doshi, this company markets products to international markets. The jewels are made with real Indian manufacturing expertise and supported by the latest machinery and communication systems, to also be able to guarantee prompt customer service. A good design and concepts team completes the company.
